WHO AM I?

Sutfer, formerly known as Lights-Music, is an independent artist originally from Mexico.

His musical project began on April 3, 2024, marking the start and creation of "Lights-Music," a name that would signify the beginning of "Yair González's" independent music career.

But "Lights-Music" didn't come about overnight. In 2021, Yair González decided to create a YouTube channel titled "LIGHTS-topic," where he began uploading his instrumental songs of all kinds: Dubstep, Electronic, etc. These were created using Bandlab, but after six videos uploaded to his channel, he eventually abandoned the project and consequently his YouTube channel.

Year 2024

After a long time, Yair González would return with a new musical proposal, inspired by various artists such as "Twenty One Pilots," "Hans Zimmer," and "Ludwig Göransson," deciding to create an instrumental piece that reminded him of a universe. With all that in mind, something mystical was about to be born.

"Hidden Universe," the name currently given to their first single, was released on April 3, 2024, in all digital stores, giving rise to Lights-Music being born in the sound universe that "Yair" was creating.

After hidden universe premiered: Yair took about 5 months to create his new song. In September, he started to come up with ideas on how to create his new single. The first concept he had was that the musical piece would evoke a feeling of being chased at night, as if something were lurking and pursuing you through a forest or city in the early morning hours.

With some ideas in mind, Yair would embark on his journey in the production of his new single. Approximately 2 weeks later... The song was completely finished, now what was left was to create the single, the name that the song would receive, and subsequently its distribution.

Officially on October 12, 2024, Dsitubing Night was released, positioning itself as their second single to be released in the same year.

Sound evolution

Shortly after the release of Disturbing Night, Lights-Music would launch an EP, which Yair would consider a continuation of his second song titled "Disturbing Night," remembering that the essence of that song was being chased by something. With that conceptual idea for his second release, he would create an EP titled "Nightfall's Ascent," which will contain 2 songs titled "The Last Night of Life" and "Awakening," marking a loop between "Disturbing Night" and the two mentioned songs, like a death and rebirth at the same time.

On November 18, 2024, Nightfall's Ascent would premiere for the first time on all streaming platforms, marking the conclusion of its last release of the year.

The creation of MN Sphere LLC

During the creation of Nightfall’s Ascent, Yair felt the need to give identity to his project through his own record label. He spent several days thinking about the ideal name until a spark of inspiration led him to a simple yet meaningful word: "Sphere." He wanted to add a more personal touch, so he incorporated the initials "MN," in honor of a special name that had marked his life. Finally, he decided to complete the name with a professional touch: MN Sphere LLC. Since then, all his works have been released under this label, which has become an essential part of his artistic identity.

Year 2025

Lights-Music marked a significant stage in Yair's journey, discovering his sound and style of music that he was passionate about creating. But one day, Yair thought that the name "Lights-Music" sounded generic or outdated, so for several months he was thinking about his new musical identity, his new name.

Although the idea of changing his artistic identity lingered, he still had a project in mind, like a metaphor for a lucid dream, so at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025 he would begin the creation of "Ecliptic Dream," his last song that he would release under the name Lights-Music.

With everything in mind, he would once again delve into the production of his new song, but this time with a bit of experience in music production. Lastly, Ecliptic Dream would need a cover, so Yair remembered that since he was a child, he had been fascinated by the theme of black holes and outer space. Therefore, in Blender, he created a model of a black hole to allude to what had captivated him since he was young.

Finally, Ecliptic Dream premiered on all digital platforms.

Birth of Sutfer

  ​After creating his last song, Yair disappeared from the radar for quite some time, but for a good reason. During his absence from social media and music, he continued searching for the right name to replace Lights Music. One day, inspiration struck him: "What if I use the word ['Surfer' and make a modification by replacing the letter 'R' with the letter 'T'?" This small and insignificant change of letters would give way to a new name, a musical evolution and sound. Sutfer was about to be born; it just needed a song to bring this project to life.

After the creation of the name Sutfer, Yair set out to create his latest release called "Vereg," which for him meant the name of the universe he was developing in each song he published. Vereg came from Yair's imagination, stating that "Vereg comes from a language invented by himself."

Thus, Vereg became the first official release under the name Sutfer, marking the beginning of a new stage, more personal, more introspective, and more authentic.

He is currently still creating music and building his sound universe.
